Job Description

Business Development Manager

North West / West Yorkshire — Travel Required (commutable to Rochdale HQ)

£45,000–£55,000 per annum, DOE + performance incentives

Full Time, Permanent

Are you a natural relationship-builder who knows how care gets commissioned?

If you've built a career opening doors, whether with NHS and Local Authority commissioners, or case managers and medico-legal professionals, this could be the role for you.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to grow Routes Healthcare's referral pipeline across the North of England, turning relationships into commissioned care packages. Field-based, covering the North West and West Yorkshire, with regular travel to our Rochdale HQ.

A little about us

At Routes, we're more than just a healthcare provider, we're a team that genuinely cares about our clients, and each other. For over 15 years, we've delivered care that supports people to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes.

What you can expect:

  • Real autonomy and a genuine seat at the table
  • A varied pipeline spanning statutory and private referral channels
  • Access to Routes Academy for professional development
  • Performance-based incentives, EAP, mileage, and buy/sell holiday scheme

What the role involves:

  • Mapping the referral landscape — ICBs, Local Authorities, discharge teams, case managers, solicitors, and insurers
  • Building relationships so Routes becomes the trusted, go-to provider
  • Representing Routes at forums, briefings, or industry events
  • Supporting tenders, framework applications, and commercial proposals
  • Keeping a live pipeline and reporting on activity and conversion

What we're looking for:

Experience in one or both of the following:

  • NHS & LA commissioning BD, account management, or commissioning experience within the NHS, LA, or social care; working knowledge of ICBs, Section 75, or NHS CHC frameworks
  • Private case management track record winning business from case managers or the medico-legal sector; existing network within the UK case management community

Plus: a confident communicator with a track record of hitting referral or revenue targets, full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel across the region.

Apply today and help shape how Routes Healthcare grows across the North.
